Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Litigation Of Counsel to join their team in Reston, VA. The ideal candidate will have at least 8+ years of litigation experience, preferably gained at an AmLaw 100 firm, focusing on product liability and/or complex commercial litigation. A science background, such as MD, MPH, PharmD, or Epidemiology, is required. The Litigation Of Counsel will communicate with clients, supervise associates, work with experts, assist with fact development and depositions, review and draft discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda, and help develop case strategy.

Duties:

  • Communicate effectively with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties verbally and in writing.
  • Supervise associates and guide as needed.
  • Work with experts to gather necessary information for cases.
  • Assist with fact development and conduct depositions.
  • Review and draft discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
  • Help develop case strategies to ensure favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Produce deliverables promptly and respond to correspondence promptly.
  • Foster positive work relationships within the firm and with external parties.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in physical and sedentary activities as required, including working at a computer participating in virtual meetings, and conference calls.
  • Perform other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • . degree and Bar admission.
  • At least 8+ years of litigation experience, preferably gained at an AmLaw 100 firm.
  • Direct and applicable experience with product liability and/or complex commercial litigation.
  • A science background (MD, MPH, PharmD, Epidemiology) is required.
  • Experience with the pharmaceutical and medical device industry and clients is a plus.
  • Superior research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Excellent multitasking and prioritization abilities.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong academic background from nationally recognized schools.
