A law firm in Atlanta is seeking a Bankruptcy Associate Attorney to join their team. The candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing motions, responding to court notifications, and representing creditors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy matters. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of bankruptcy experience and strong leadership and communication skills.

 

Duties:

  • Prepare and review motions for relief from stay for Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies, as well as objections to Chapter 13 plans.
  • Experience with Chapter 11 and adversary matters is a plus.
  • Respond to motions to value, oppositions to objections to claim, and review and interpret all relevant legal documents.
  • Respond to court notifications and inquiries from clients, debtors, and debtors' attorneys.
  • Draft pleadings, make court appearances, and conduct case law research.
  • Handle creditor representation with minimal or no supervision.
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership skills.
  • Maintain effective communication and organization throughout all aspects of casework.
  • Balance and prioritize a high-volume workload efficiently.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice and in good standing in Georgia and all federal bankruptcy courts.
  • Admission to practice in other states is a plus.
  • 3+ years of bankruptcy experience representing creditors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 matters.

 

Skills:

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and making court appearances.
  • Strong organizational abilities and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
