H2: Job Description

As a Property Litigation Attorney, you will provide legal representation for the company in various court and administrative proceedings related to First Party Property/Homeowner Claims and Lawsuits. This includes assisting with claims issues, conducting legal research, preparing motions and oppositions, and attending court appearances.

H2: Essential Job Functions

- Provide assistance to Claims on various issues, including preparing legal opinions and providing advice on appraisals and disputed claims.
- Conduct comprehensive review of new file assignments and provide initial evaluation letters to Claims within 30 days.
- Summarize discovery responses and other relevant records within 30 days.
- Take and defend depositions and examinations under oath (EUO) and complete deposition summaries within 15 days.
- Handle Law and Motion matters, including legal research, preparation of motions, and court appearances.
- Prepare for and attend trials, as well as post-trial motions.
- Mentor less experienced attorneys and perform other miscellaneous tasks as needed for adequate defense of the company.

H2: Education and Experience

- Law degree and admission to the Bar in the state(s) of practice required.
- Preferred 5-10 years of experience defending First Party Property/Homeowner claims/cases, including EUO's, appraisals, and breach of contract and good faith lawsuits.

H2: Knowledge and Skills

- Comprehensive knowledge of insurance, coverage, evidence, and civil procedure.
- Strong understanding of First Party Property EUO's and appraisal processes.
- Extensive knowledge of defending First Party Property/Homeowner litigation.
- Effective communication, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction and manage a high volume of cases.
- Must meet company standards for driving history and have a valid license, as travel is required for this position.
