The Senior Corporate Counsel for AWS Infra Legal will be responsible for providing legal counsel and advocacy on regulatory risk and compliance for Amazon Web Services (AWS), a rapidly growing business within . This position will work closely with multiple AWS business functions globally and will be responsible for developing and executing mitigation and engagement strategies, as well as coordinating external advocacy outreach on public policy issues.

Salary information:
- Base pay ranges from $146,500/year to $272,500/year, depending on geographic market and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Additional forms of compensation, such as equity and sign-on payments, may be provided as part of a total compensation package.

Experience information:
- 10+ years of legal experience
- At least 5 years of experience in policy and regulatory initiatives
- . degree (or equivalent) and membership in good standing in at least one state bar

Key responsibilities:
- Monitor, assess, and advise on policy and regulatory changes
- Work with business teams to assess implications for AWS operations
- Align business priorities, AWS customer interests, and public policy goals
- Develop engagement strategies with public policy teams
- Draft position papers and submissions
- Drive efficiencies in regulatory monitoring, assessment, influencing, and implementation

Basic qualifications:
- 10+ years of legal experience
- 5+ years of experience providing legal counsel and advocacy in highly regulated sectors
- . degree (or equivalent) and membership in good standing in at least one state bar

Preferred qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate with, and persuade others
- Experience with data center issues
- A combination of law firm and in-house experience
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Strong analytical and communication skills
