Job Overview:

  • Manage a diverse array of patent projects within the life sciences domain.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and clients to ensure effective patent strategies and solutions.

Duties:

  • Draft patent applications, responses to office actions, and other legal documents related to life sciences patents.
  • Prosecute patent applications before the USPTO.
  • Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate searches.
  • Provide opinions on patentability, infringement, and validity.
  • Participate in due diligence projects related to patent portfolios.
  • Assist in post-grant proceedings, including inter-partes reviews and reexaminations.

Requirements:

  • 1-10 years of experience as a Patent Agent, preferably within the life sciences field.
  • A master’s degree in Organic Chemistry or a related field, with a preference for a PhD. Alternatively, 2-3 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution for small-molecule pharmaceuticals.
  • Admission to practice before the USPTO.

Education and Certifications:

  • Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry or related field (PhD preferred).
