Tax Senior - Private Wealth (East Coast)

Position Summary:

- Seeking a leader and strategic thinker with extensive knowledge in multiple areas of taxation
- Responsible for delivering compliance and consulting services to individual clients and their trusts, estates, family offices, and closely-held businesses
- Must have a strong understanding of AGI & DNI

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform high-level reviews of tax research for individual, fiduciary, partnership, closely-held corporations, estate, and gift work papers and tax returns
- Prepare and assist in client meetings for compliance and consulting projects related to tax planning and transaction implications
- Provide solutions to complex tax issues

Team Overview:

- Deloitte Tax LLP's Private Wealth team focuses on the specialized needs of the ultra-affluent
- Provides comprehensive wealth transfer planning advice to clients including families with multigenerational wealth, entrepreneurs, family offices, and closely-held business owners
- Aims to help clients make informed decisions regarding personal financial comfort, business and investment needs, family legacy, and charitable giving

Qualifications:

- Must be able to work in a hybrid model with in-person co-location 2-3 days per week
- 3+ years of experience in tax planning or preparing and reviewing work papers and income tax returns
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field
- Experience reviewing trust documents
- Strong technology, research, and writing skills
- Willingness to travel up to 25% for work and clients served
- Active accreditation such as CPA, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA), or Certified Financial Planner (CFP)

Preferred Qualifications:

- Advanced degree such as MST, JD, or LLM
- Prior experience at a Big 4 firm
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Analytical and able to articulate conclusions, planning opportunities, and risks identified through research projects

Salary Information:

- Wage range for this role is $63,420 to $144,300, taking into account various factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications
- Range estimate does not include geographic differentials
- Compensation decisions are dependent on individual cases and may not be at the top of the range for the role
