A law firm in Springfield is seeking an experienced Energy Regulatory Associate Attorney with 4-5 years of energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record and expertise in handling regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission and other state energy regulatory commissions, as well as experience involving the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) or other ISO/RTOs or organized power markets.

 

Job Details:

  • Handle regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission and other state energy regulatory commissions.
  • Deal with matters involving the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) or other ISO/RTOs or organized power markets.
  • Advocate before state utility commissions and handle power transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, power sales, and related matters.
  • Provide expertise in energy transactional and regulatory litigation and compliance.
  • Collaborate with a team to effectively handle multiple projects.
  • Articulate legal strategies and courses of action.
  • Maintain a strong academic record and interpersonal skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

 

Experience:

4-5 years of energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance experience.

 

Skills:

  • Experience with regulatory and compliance matters before energy regulatory commissions.
  • Knowledge of matters involving ERCOT or other ISO/RTOs or organized power markets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Superior judgment in legal matters.
  • Effective project management skills.
  • Ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action.

 

Certifications:

Active Bar license in the state.
