The Insurance Tax Manager will be responsible for providing tax services to clients in the financial services industry, specifically in the insurance sector. This individual will work with a team of professionals to help clients meet their tax obligations while also managing the impact tax has on their business. The role will require up to 20% travel.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

- Advising clients on local and overseas tax affairs related to insurance
- Acting as a strategic consultant for business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners
- Assisting organisations with understanding the pricing implications of goods and services between related parties
- Providing advice on tax implications of deals
- Helping clients with their tax structuring and addressing challenges of the changing tax world
- Managing complex business issues from strategy to execution as part of a team of problem solvers
- Developing new skills outside of comfort zone and resolving issues that prevent effective team work
- Coaching others and recognising their strengths while encouraging personal development
- Analysing complex ideas and building recommendations based on multiple sources of information
- Addressing sub-standard work and using data and insights to inform conclusions and decision-making
- Developing a point of view on key global trends and their impact on clients
- Managing different viewpoints to build consensus and positive outcomes for all parties involved
- Simplifying complex messages and summarising key points
- Upholding the firm's code of ethics and business conduct

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a minimum of 4 years of experience. A CPA or membership in the Bar is required. A Master's degree is preferred.

Preferred skills and knowledge for this role include:

- Thorough knowledge of tax issues affecting the domestic and/or international insurance industries
- Familiarity with public accounting practices, internal domestic insurance tax departments, or internal foreign insurance departments
- Comprehensive technical skills in FAS 109, FIN 48, tax provision preparation audit and review, and corporate and partnership tax compliance
- Experience in identifying and addressing client needs, building and maintaining relationships, and managing resources and projects effectively
- Experience as a team leader, with the ability to supervise and coach staff
- Success as a tax technical business advisor, with the ability to develop new relationships and sell new services
- Familiarity with a CRM system
- Knowledge of automation and digitization in a professional services environment, including the ability to innovate and work with large data sets and digitization tools to optimize engagements
- Understanding of alternative fee arrangements and the ability to provide a point of view on pricing strategies
