Job Overview: The law firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commercial Real Estate Attorney to independently manage all phases of commercial real estate lending transactions. The successful candidate will play a key role in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating various finance transactions, handling contracts for property acquisition, sale, and exchange, and overseeing the preparation of legal documents related to real estate transactions. The Senior Commercial Real Estate Attorney must have expertise in commercial real estate and construction, with a focus on acquisitions and dispositions, construction contracts, and commercial leasing.

Job Details:

  • Manage all phases of commercial real estate lending transactions, from inception to closing, for Real Estate lenders and clients.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of finance transactions, including real estate acquisition, mezzanine loans, bridge loans, and loans secured by corporate assets, franchise licenses, ground leases, and other collateral.
  • Manage the preparation and negotiation of contracts for the acquisition, sale, and/or exchange of property, as well as the preparation of easements, dedications, and subdivisions.
  • Review commitment letters, term sheets, fee letters, credit agreements, and ancillary loan documents.
  • Review title reports real estate surveys, and oversee title clearance.
  • Provide expertise in commercial real estate and construction, including Acquisitions and Dispositions, Construction Contracts and related Agreements, and Commercial Leasing.
  • Experience in banking and finance law is a plus, representing banks, developers, builders, and real estate owners in all aspects of secured lending transactions.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Must be admitted to the VA Bar.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills are essential.
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and be responsive to clients.
  • Well-organized, high-energy, self-starter, must work well in a team environment.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree.
  • Admitted to the Virginia Bar.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Commercial Real Estate Attorney.
  • Strong background in commercial real estate and construction law.
  • Experience with acquisitions and dispositions, construction contracts, and commercial leasing.
  • Familiarity with banking and finance law is a plus.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Virginia Bar.
