A law firm in Los Angeles is seeking a dynamic Managed Care Associate Attorney with a strong background in managed care, including expertise in provider contract and billing disputes, medical necessity, level of care, and coordination of benefits. The ideal candidate will have experience in out-of-network payor provider litigation and a demonstrated commitment to the field. The Managed Care Associate Attorney should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be motivated, articulate, and collaborative. This role requires immediate assumption of responsibility for matters, and the candidate should have a solid foundation in general litigation and/or arbitration.

 

Duties:

  • Handle provider contract and billing disputes, medical necessity, level of care, and coordination of benefits cases.
  • Manage out-of-network payor provider litigation matters.
  • Assume immediate responsibility for legal matters within the managed care practice.
  • Engage in legal research, analysis, and brief writing.
  • Participate in oral arguments and other legal proceedings.
  • Collaborate with legal teams and other professionals within the law firm.

 

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of general litigation and/or arbitration experience.
  • Strong academic credentials and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the field of managed care.
  • Motivated, personable, and articulate with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a law firm environment.
  • A Bar license in at least one of the following states is preferred: California, Texas or Florida.

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Preferred law school experience includes law clerk internships, moot court, or law review/journal participation.

 

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of managed care, including provider contract and billing disputes.
  • Legal research and analysis.
  • Brief writing and oral argument skills.
