The ideal candidate will possess a biomedical or mechanical engineering degree, or other relevant engineering disciplines, along with 3+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience in medical devices and/or mechanical products. Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is a mandatory requirement for this role.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct patent searches and analyze prior art to determine patentability of inventions.
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications related to medical devices and mechanical engineering.
  • Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and attorneys to gather necessary information for patent filings.
  • Provide strategic advice on intellectual property matters, including patent portfolio management.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • High level of academic achievement.
  • 3+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • Solid law firm, engineering, or industry experience.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • Degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering; other engineering disciplines with substantial patent experience in medical devices and/or mechanical products are acceptable.
  • Admission to the USPTO is mandatory.

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
