The ideal candidate must be a Virginia-licensed attorney and have completed a judicial clerkship. The Attorney will be responsible for handling a variety of legal matters, with a focus on litigation, creditors' rights, or bankruptcy cases. The candidate should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in litigation matters, including court hearings, trials, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on matters related to creditors' rights and bankruptcy law
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff on case strategy and litigation tactics
  • Attend meetings and negotiations with opposing parties and stakeholders
  • Manage case files and documentation, including maintaining accurate records and deadlines
  • Assist with client communications and case management tasks as needed
  • Stay updated on changes in Virginia law and court procedures relevant to the practice areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervising attorneys or partners

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Virginia State Bar
  • 2+ years of experience practicing law, with a focus on litigation, creditors' rights, or bankruptcy
  • Completion of a judicial clerkship
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing
