City of Albuquerque is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant City Attorney for their Litigation Division. The successful candidate will have a and at least 5 years of experience as a licensed attorney, with a preference for experience in litigation. The salary for this position will depend on the candidate's qualifications.

The City of Albuquerque Legal Department provides a wide range of legal services to the City and represents them in legal proceedings before state, federal, and administrative bodies. The chosen candidate will be responsible for conducting legal research, drafting legal opinions, reviewing and drafting policies, ordinances, and executive/administrative instructions, reviewing and negotiating contracts, litigating matters, and providing general advice and counsel on day-to-day operations. Strong attention to detail and excellent writing and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.

This is a full-time, unclassified at-will position with the City of Albuquerque. The successful candidate will be an active member of the State Bar of New Mexico in good standing, or able to become licensed in New Mexico within three (3) months from the date of hire.
