Responsibilities:
- Defend litigation in designated area of California with some travel and occasional overnight stays
- Handle all assigned litigation and other legal matters for GuideOne and its policyholders
- Prepare motions, pleadings, and discovery
- Conduct depositions, hearings, and trials
- Communicate with claims department
- Competently present a controversy from inception through trial or appeal
- Handle mix of commercial property, coverage disputes, and personal injury cases
- Other duties as assigned, including meetings, training, and corporate legal functions

Requirements:
- Licensed to practice law in California
- . from accredited law school
- 5+ years of insurance defense litigation experience
- Trial experience preferred
- Admitted to or eligible for admission to federal court
- Able to handle high-value case load with little to no direct supervision
- Frequent travel required, with some overnight stays
- Prior in-house experience a plus
- CPCU or insurance-related designation a plus

Compensation:
- $130,000 - $155,000 based on experience in California
