Job Summary:
BDO is seeking a Tax Associate, Customs & International Trade for Summer 2025. This role will involve using research skills and knowledge in accounting, finance, and economics to identify potential trade issues and opportunities. The associate will work with a team of professionals to provide advice to clients in various industries on import and export matters.

Job Duties:
- Conduct research and assist in writing and reviewing international trade advice
- Identify potential trade savings opportunities and present ideas to clients
- Collaborate with BDO specialists and client service teams on projects and proposals
- Build relationships with BDO customs experts worldwide
- Draft tax alerts on customs and global trade tax matters
- Manage client expectations and work with client service team personnel
- Other duties as needed

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Mentor interns as needed

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field required; Juris Doctorate, LLM, or MBA preferred
- Experience in tax, legal, customs, or import/export trade preferred
- Internship within a professional services firm preferred
- CPA and/or JD preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, RIA, BNA, Lexis Nexis
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Experience managing a team of tax professionals preferred
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and professionals at all levels
- Basic understanding of taxation and law

Salary Information:
- Salaries are determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and location
- California Range: $65,000 - $110,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $76,000 - $110,000
- Washington Range: $65,000 - $110,000
