Duties:

  • Meet with existing and new clients to assess and address their estate planning needs.
  • Advise clients on advanced estate planning strategies, including structuring complex gift, estate, and tax plans, family succession plans, and trust administrations.
  • Draft and review estate planning documents to ensure legal compliance and alignment with client goals.
  • Assist with probates and trust administration, guiding clients through the process and resolving legal issues.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings and negotiate with opposing counsel to protect their interests.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients and other legal professionals, fostering a network in the legal industry.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California Bar.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in California trust and estate law.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex legal issues.
  • Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a legal team.
  • Familiarity with case management software, such as Clio, Practice Panther, and Hightail, is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Access), Outlook, and Adobe software.
  • A passion for learning and a willingness to tackle challenging legal matters.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to work on-site at the law firm's location.
