In this role, you will be responsible for providing effective claims handling and serving as a decision maker on complex contract and commercial surety matters. Key Responsibilities: - Independently investigate, research, analyze, and process complex claims on contract and commercial surety bonds. - Direct, monitor, and assist outside counsel in negotiating and resolving claims. - Pursue salvage and subrogation to mitigate losses and improve overall results for Surety. - Provide education and training on key legal issues to surety underwriting and other company staff. - Maintain current knowledge of related laws and regulations and provide legal advice and transactional support. - Drive change and improvement in existing processes and work collaboratively with other senior leaders. - Manage organizational change and influence others to accept new ideas and approaches. - Embrace feedback and strive for outstanding results. Qualifications: - Law degree with an undergraduate degree in Engineering, Accounting, Business, or Finance preferred. - Minimum of 10 years' experience in the insurance industry with a focus on Surety. - Properly licensed to handle surety claims within the . - Working knowledge of profit/loss management and reserving. - Demonstrated leadership and ability to work effectively with a multi-functional team. - Advanced analytical skills and superior claim resolution abilities. - Strong communication and presentation skills. - Experience with claims management systems and advanced computer skills. - Proven ability to manage change and achieve goals.
