With a team of over 1,000 practitioners, the Gi3 tax team specializes in providing comprehensive tax services for credits and incentives. As a Senior, you will be responsible for identifying eligible federal credits and incentives generating activities and managing the analysis and documentation of these opportunities. This may be unfamiliar territory for businesses without the necessary personnel or resources, and your expertise will be invaluable in navigating the ever-evolving legislation and completing necessary paperwork. You will work with a passionate and experienced team, collaborating with colleagues from Tax, Advisory, Consulting, and Audit and Assurance. The ideal candidate will be invested in the team's success and effectively manage workstreams while identifying process improvements and new service opportunities. You will also ensure timely and accurate completion of deliverables, monitor tax legislation, and develop client outreach strategies. Responsibilities: - Manage federal credits and incentives opportunities such as Research and Development tax credits, New Markets Tax Credit, Qualified Opportunity Zones, Sustainability and Renewable Energy tax credits, and other federal credit incentives - Identify potential opportunities for clients and advise on eligibility requirements - Maintain strong internal and client relationships - Utilize your technical skills and expertise to solve complex issues - Mentor and motivate consultants, providing career guidance and counseling - Identify potential issues and propose solutions to leadership, implementing process improvement strategies - Ensure timely and accurate delivery of engagement deliverables, including presentations, executive summaries, credit calculations, completed tax forms, supporting files, and IRS audit responses - Monitor legislative and regulatory tax developments and present opportunities to assist clients The Team: National Federal Tax Services (NFTS) is a national practice within Deloitte Tax LLP that offers various tax service offerings. The Global Investment & Innovation Incentives (Gi3) tax team specializes in providing comprehensive tax credit and incentive services, including Research and Development credits, New Market Tax Credit, Qualified Opportunity Zones, Renewable Energy tax credits, and other federal credits. These benefits are available for activities conducted in the United States and research performed in over 30 other countries. Qualifications: Required: - Ability to work within a hybrid work model (in-person 2-3 days per week) - Ability to travel up to 25% (based on work and client needs) - - 3+ years of related experience - Knowledge of R&D tax incentives and/or experience with New Markets Tax Credits, Qualified Opportunity Zones, or Renewable Energy tax credits - Strong analytical and research skills and effective communication (verbal and written) - Ability to collaborate and develop relationships - Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities - One of the following accreditations (or willingness to obtain): - CPA in state of practice/primary office (if eligible to sit for the CPA) - Licensed attorney - Enrolled Agent - Project Management Professional (PMP) - Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) - Professional Engineer Preferred: - Advanced degree (Masters of Tax, JD, LLM) - Experience with tax technical research (., CCH, Hein, Lexis, RIA, etc.) - Experience with Federal or State and Local C&I - Experience with sustainability technologies or environmental sciences - Previous Big 4 or large CPA or law firm experience Salary Information: The wage range for this role takes into account various factors, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate does not include any applicable geographic differentials. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are based on individual circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $66,570 to $151,580. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to program rules and regulations.
