The law firm located in Atlanta is seeking a skilled and experienced Mid-level Patent Agent to join their team. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a high level of academic achievement, possess solid law firm, engineering, or industry experience, and showcase exceptional writing and communication skills. The candidate must hold a degree in electrical engineering or computer science and have a strong background in patent prosecution, particularly in electrical engineering or software-related technologies. Duties:

  • Conduct patent preparation and prosecution activities with a focus on electrical engineering and software-related technologies.

  • Collaborate with inventors, attorneys, and clients to gather necessary information for patent applications.
  • Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications, responding to office actions and other communications from patent offices.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting intellectual property.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer science.
  • Admission to the USPTO.
  • 4+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • A solid law firm, engineering, or industry background.

 

Preferred Experience:

Specialization in patent prosecution related to data science/AI, networking technologies (network security), and machine learning/artificial intelligence with hardware security.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of patent laws and regulations.
