A law firm in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking an Immigration Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to represent public school districts and other educational institutions in immigration, labor, and employment law matters. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent research and writing abilities. Preference will be given to candidates with public speaking experience, strong interpersonal skills, and prior experience working with school districts or governmental entities.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal representation to public school districts and educational institutions in immigration, labor, and employment law matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on immigration laws and regulations.
  • Draft legal documents, including petitions, applications, and correspondence related to immigration cases.
  • Represent clients in immigration proceedings before administrative agencies and courts.
  • Advise clients on compliance with immigration laws and regulations.
  • Assist with labor and employment law matters, including employment contracts and disputes.
  • Maintain communication with clients and provide updates on case developments.
  • Participate in meetings and negotiations with clients and opposing parties.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff on case strategy and execution.
  • Stay updated on changes in immigration laws and policies.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of New Mexico or eligibility for admission by reciprocity.
  • 3-5 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Public speaking experience (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with school districts or governmental entities (preferred).

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of New Mexico or eligibility for admission by reciprocity.
