Senior Counsel / Associate General Counsel - Full-Time Opportunity at Picarro in Santa Clara, CA

Overview:
Picarro, a world leader in greenhouse gas and optical stable isotope instruments, is seeking an experienced business attorney to join their team in Santa Clara, CA. This is a full-time position with potential for career growth, reporting to the General Counsel. The successful candidate will have a broad business law background and be responsible for drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, providing strategic legal advice, and contributing to the development and implementation of business processes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and negotiate diverse commercial contracts with sophisticated customers and business partners
- Provide strategic legal advice for business development initiatives and new business opportunities
- Contribute to contract review processes, workflow management, and continuous improvement of contract administration
- Lead legal activities related to cybersecurity and data privacy law developments, and updating policies
- Support Picarro's global business presence by establishing and governing subsidiary companies in APAC, EMEA, and LATAM
- Advise the company on corporate compliance in areas including employment, environmental, export, and privacy
- Develop and deliver training presentations and compliance programs

Required Skills and Experience:
- . from an ABA-accredited law school and current bar membership in at least one US state
- Minimum of four years of relevant legal practice experience, in a corporate legal department or at a nationally recognized law firm
- Hands-on experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
- Practical experience with contract management policies and CLM tools
- Strong knowledge of business law applicable to technology companies, such as data privacy, employment, intellectual property, and software licensing
- Excellent judgement and analytical skills, with the ability to balance business needs with legal risks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate legal requirements to non-legal audiences
- Strong organizational, planning, and management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work constructively with clients of diverse personalities and operating styles
- Ability to work collaboratively on cross-functional teams
- Ability to work under time pressure while maintaining a good sense of humor
- Ability to work onsite at the Santa Clara location as needed

Preferred Skills and Experience:
- California Bar membership or ability to qualify as registered in-house counsel (RIHC) in the State of California
- Experience in environmental law counseling
- Experience supporting software development and licensing programs
- Experience negotiating and working with public utility customers
- Experience with government contracting and procurement processes
- Foreign language proficiency

Salary & Benefits:
- Salary range of $140,000-$185,000, determined based on experience, qualifications, and skills
