A law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney for its San Diego, CA, location. The successful candidate will provide counsel and litigation strategies for clients in transportation and commercial litigation matters. Key responsibilities and requirements include:

Job Overview:

  • Provide counsel and litigation strategies for transportation and commercial litigation matters
  • Manage full case-handling responsibilities, including discovery, pleadings, motions, depositions, mediations, and trial
  • Negotiate and communicate with opposing counsel
  • Draft and respond to correspondence
  • Ensure comprehensive and clear reporting to client representatives

Duties:

  • Provide counsel and litigation strategies for transportation and commercial litigation matters
  • Manage full case-handling responsibilities, including discovery, pleadings, motions, depositions, mediations, and trial
  • Negotiate and communicate with opposing counsel
  • Draft and respond to correspondence
  • Ensure comprehensive and clear reporting to client representatives

Requirements:

  • Must be admitted to and in good standing with the California Bar
  • Minimum 5 years of civil litigation experience, with a preference for transportation, commercial litigation, product liability, and/or general liability experience
  • Experienced in depositions
  • Experienced in writing and arguing motions, including for summary judgment
  • Possess strong analytical skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated professional who can take initiative and work independently as well as within a team

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the California Bar
