Duties:

  • Conduct patent preparation and prosecution for clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies
  • Work closely with clients to understand their technology innovations and develop effective patent strategies
  • Draft patent applications and respond to office actions from the USPTO
  • Provide legal advice on patentability, infringement, and validity matters
  • Conduct patent searches and prior art analysis
  • Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather technical information
  • Assist with IP portfolio management and patent portfolio development
  • Stay updated on developments in patent law and industry trends

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (CS), Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Physics, or equivalent experience
  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to practice before the USPTO as a patent attorney
  • 2+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience
  • Technical experience in cloud computing, cryptography, information security, robotics, or blockchain is desirable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (CS), Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Physics, or equivalent

 

Certifications:

Admission to practice before the USPTO as a patent attorney
