# Contract Attorney
The Alaska Public Defender Agency (Agency) is offering an opportunity for contract attorneys to provide legal representation to indigent individuals in criminal cases across the state of Alaska. The Agency is looking for experienced attorneys with strong writing and analytical skills, and the ability to work independently to research and compose legal briefs as well as possess strong oral advocacy skills.

## Qualifications
* Must be admitted to the Alaska bar
* Possess an active State of Alaska business license
* Maintain professional liability insurance
* Possess trial experience

## Compensation
Contractors are compensated on either a flat fee or hourly basis. The Agency also covers some case related expenses and services.

## Responsibilities
Contractors are expected to handle cases to completion at the trial court level.
