Job Description

BDO is seeking a Director to join our Privacy & Data Protection (PDP) Practice as a subject matter expert and engagement leader. The PDP Director will be responsible for maintaining client relationships, developing new opportunities, managing project teams, and ensuring quality work product for clients. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to work with both domestic and international clients and professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop global data protection and privacy strategies for C-suite/board-level clients
Build cross-cultural functionality for clients' global privacy programs
Create privacy operations program plans for corporate clients
Manage BDO USA team members and collaborate with BDO Member Firms and offshore team members
Provide detailed information to clients on domestic and global privacy laws
Guide team members on project budget and scheduling
Establish new relationships to drive new opportunities for BDO
Comply with BDO's Quality Risk Management, Data Protection, and other Frameworks
Manage relationships with client professionals and introduce other BDO professionals to expand on existing relationships
Manage day-to-day project requirements and on-site/remote teams
Ensure timely and thoughtful responses to client inquiries
Build relationships with other BDO professionals and participate in industry events
Ensure quality services for corporate clients
Update customer relationship management for pipeline reporting
Review executive reports and provide feedback to team members
Develop proposals, respond to RFP/RFIs, and manage Master Service Agreements and engagement letters
Utilize knowledge of client needs to develop project and resource plans, establish reporting and metrics, and provide regular updates to clients
Participate in business unit, legal, IT, privacy, and governance interviews and meetings
Proofread and edit executive reports before presenting to prospects and clients
Manage client and BDO Partner expectations at all levels
Mentor team members to ensure consistent work product and adherence to BDO standards
Manage multiple large, complex, and long-term engagements and clients
Manage client expectations at all levels, including senior level executives
Support the Data Protection Officer for clients
Develop and manage project budgets, review invoices, and ensure timely delivery
Act as a leader and maintain a positive attitude with clients and firm personnel
Manage a team of professionals on a project or regional basis
Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Ensure team members are trained on relevant software, practice tools, and processes
Evaluate performance and assist in setting goals for team members
Provide periodic performance feedback and complete evaluations in accordance with Firm guidance
Mentor team members as appropriate

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:

Bachelor's degree required
Master's, Juris Doctorate, or MBA preferred

Experience:

10+ years of consulting experience required
3+ years of data protection or privacy experience required
Experience with Fortune 500 clients preferred
5+ years of experience managing large, complex privacy projects required

License(s)/Certification(s):

One or more privacy certifications required, such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, CDPSE
Experience with privacy enabled technology solutions preferred

Software:

Experience with OneTrust, BigID, and other privacy and GRC software
Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Visio, required
Knowledge of database systems, software development lifecycle, and technology company operations preferred

Language(s):

Multilingual capabilities preferred

Executive presence and ability to act as primary ,000
Colorado Range: $200,000 - $225,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $200,000 - $225,000
Washington Range: $200,000 - $225,000
