Job Overview:

  • Provide legal representation to clients in workers' compensation cases, focusing on defense strategies and advocating for the interests of insurance companies.

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of workers' compensation matters, primarily representing insurance companies in defense of claims.

  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents related to workers' compensation defense.
  • Prepare for and participate in administrative hearings, mediations, and other dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and administrative agencies.
  • Assist in negotiation and settlement discussions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff on case strategy and management.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate or better from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Georgia.
  • Prior experience in insurance defense, particularly in workers' compensation, is encouraged.
  • 2+ years of experience in workers' compensation law.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Must be licensed to practice law in Georgia.

 

Skills:

  • Knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations.
  • Legal research and writing proficiency.
  • Communication and negotiation skills.
  • Case management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
