Applying for a Summer Internship:

- Internship offers diverse experience including researching and writing legal documents, observing court proceedings, providing support to trial teams, conducting investigations, and interacting with clients.
- Internship available starting the summer after two semesters of legal studies.
- 21 trial offices across the state, covering 22 judicial districts and 64 counties.
- Denver offices are popular due to proximity to local law schools, but students are encouraged to consider spending a semester in the mountains or serving rural clients.

Frontier, Rural, and Mountain Area Internships:

- To apply for a 1L internship in any of the 15 trial offices outside of the Denver Metro area, email your resume and cover letter to the designated point of contact for the office(s) you are interested in.

- First year law students have the opportunity to gain diverse experience in legal research, writing, and court proceedings through the Colorado Defenders Office 1L Internship program.
- Internships are available in 21 trial offices across the state, covering 22 judicial districts and 64 counties.
