A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney in Woodland Hills, CA. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of litigation experience and will be responsible for the following:

 

Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will be responsible for conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, assisting with case management and preparation for litigation, participating in negotiations and settlement discussions, attending court hearings and depositions, and collaborating with senior attorneys to develop case strategies.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and briefs
  • Assist with case management and preparation for litigation
  • Participate in negotiations and settlement discussions
  • Attend court hearings and depositions as required
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation

 

Requirements:

  • Must have mastered discovery and evidence rules and have superior writing and research skills
  • Graduation from a top tier ABA-accredited law school is a plus
  • Top academic credentials and strong analytical skills required
  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the State Bar association
  • Prior experience in litigation is preferred

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the State Bar association

 

Skills:

  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Proficiency in legal drafting and analysis
  • Experience with Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw research platforms
  • Ability to negotiate effectively and communicate complex legal concepts clearly
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
