Senior Counsel - Privacy and Cybersecurity

- REI Co-op is looking for a Senior Counsel - Privacy and Cybersecurity to join their legal team in Seattle, Washington.
- This role will provide legal advice and leadership on issues related to privacy, personalization, cybersecurity, and technology, in order to enable a life outside for everyone.
- The Senior Counsel will report to the General Counsel and work closely with executive leadership, including the Chief Technology Officer and Chief Information Security Officer.
- This position requires at least 10 years of experience at a highly respected law firm or in-house corporate environment, as well as a . and membership in good standing with at least one State Bar.
- The ideal candidate will also have a CIPP/US or other privacy certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
- Responsibilities include monitoring and advising on legal and regulatory requirements, drafting and negotiating agreements, supporting privacy program operations, and managing disputes.
- Additional duties may include conducting compliance trainings, providing thought-leadership on legal issues, and assisting with other projects as needed.
- The Senior Counsel should have a strategic mindset, strong character and integrity, and the ability to build relationships and influence others.
