A law firm is seeking a Workers' Compensation Attorney for its Sacramento, California office. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the defense of workers’ compensation cases. Responsible for all aspects of workers’ compensation cases, including evaluation, communication, medical review, negotiation, settlement, and litigation if necessary. Manages a full caseload of workers’ compensation cases with varying complexity.

 

Duties:

  • Evaluating the merits of workers’ compensation cases.
  • Providing guidance and counsel to clients through effective communication.
  • Conducting medical reviews.
  • Negotiating, settling, and litigating cases as needed.
  • Creating litigation plans and budget plans if necessary.
  • Conducting discovery.
  • Traveling to court and other appearances.
  • Trying cases while maintaining exceptional client interaction.
  • Composing motions, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Preparing cases for trial.
  • Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties to effectively represent clients.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the defense of workers’ compensation cases.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the state of California.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the state of California.

 

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a full caseload with varying complexity.
  • Proficient in legal research and writing.
