A law firm is seeking a Mid-Senior Level Energy Project Finance Associate Attorney for its Los Angeles office. The ideal candidate should have significant experience in energy project development, M&A, and project finance transactions, particularly focusing on renewable power and energy transition projects. The Energy Project Finance Associate Attorney will play a key role in energy project transactions, including drafting primary deal documents, leading complex diligence, managing deal processes, and interacting with clients. This role requires a strong background in energy project finance and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

 

Duties:

  • Draft primary deal documents, including purchase and sale agreements, investment agreements (including tax equity), financing agreements, and joint venture agreements
  • Lead complex due diligence processes for energy project transactions
  • Manage deal processes, including coordinating with junior associates and internal specialist teams
  • Interact with clients to provide legal advice and deliver high-quality work product
  • Stay informed about energy regulatory matters, project real property, permitting requirements, and commercial agreements such as offtake and interconnection agreements

 

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in project development and finance, preferably in the energy sector
  • Admission to one or more State Bars
  • Strong understanding of energy project finance transactions, including renewable energy projects
  • Familiarity with energy regulatory matters and permitting requirements
  • Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
  • The team-oriented mindset with the ability to take on significant responsibility

 

Education:

JD degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Admission to one or more State Bars
