A law firm is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Lateral Corporate - Restructuring and Special Situations Finance Associate Attorney to join their team in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in representing creditors or borrowers in complex financial transactions, including liability management, DIP financings, bankruptcy exit financings, and special situations financings. This role will primarily involve collaborating with the Global Finance team and working closely with the Business Restructuring & Reorganization team on high-profile representations for various financial institutions.

 

Duties:

  • Represent creditors or borrowers in diverse financial transactions, including liability management transactions, DIP financings, bankruptcy exit financings, and special situations financings.
  • Collaborate with the Global Finance team and the Business Restructuring & Reorganization team on top-of-the-capital-structure representations.
  • Work on high-profile cases, representing hedge funds, CLOs, private equity funds, and other financial institutions in both chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings.

 

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience in corporate law, specializing in restructuring and special situations finance.
  • Proven track record of successfully representing creditors or borrowers in complex financial transactions.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar or eligibility for admission by waiver.
  • Strong understanding of bankruptcy laws and financial restructuring processes.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
