A law firm is seeking a Mid-level Privacy and Cybersecurity Associate Attorney for their Palo Alto office. The attorney will play a significant role within the group, contributing to the growth of the practice to serve leading technology companies navigating cybersecurity regulations. Experience in incident response, cyber counseling, and familiarity with FTC, SEC, or state AG policy and enforcement regarding cybersecurity is desirable. Superior academic credentials and strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are required.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel to clients on privacy and cybersecurity matters.
  • Assist clients with incident response, including data breaches and cybersecurity incidents.
  • Advise clients on compliance with cybersecurity regulations and best practices.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on privacy and cybersecurity laws and regulations.
  • Draft and review privacy policies, terms of service, and other related documents.
  • Assist in negotiations and transactions involving privacy and cybersecurity issues.
  • Collaborate with partners and other team members on client matters.
  • Stay updated on changes in privacy and cybersecurity laws and regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 3-7 years of experience in privacy and cybersecurity law.
  • Experience with incident response, cyber counseling, and cybersecurity regulation enforcement preferred.
  • Superior academic credentials.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Any relevant certifications in privacy or cybersecurity would be advantageous.

 

Skills:

  • Knowledge of privacy and cybersecurity laws and regulations.
  • Experience with incident response and cyber counseling.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients and team members.
