A law firm is seeking a Senior Estates and Trusts Attorney with a strong background in tax and substantial experience in complex estate planning strategies. The candidate should also have the ability to handle probate matters and litigation. This role requires excellent communication, organizational skills, and a high degree of proficiency in the field of estates and trusts law.

 

Duties:

  • Utilize expertise in estate planning to draft and implement complex strategies, including GSTT legacy trusts, SLATs, GRATs, sales to IDGTs, and CRTs.
  • Manage probate matters, which may involve preparing and filing motions and handling trust litigation as necessary.
  • Demonstrate superior verbal and written communication skills in client interactions and legal document preparation.
  • Independently manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment, showing self-initiative and strong organizational skills.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of tax law and estate planning concepts in daily practice.
  • Possess a post-graduate degree, in tax, or have taken requisite courses during law school that are applicable to the field.
  • Be proficient in using MS Office Suite and a Document Management System (desired).

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in estate planning and trust administration.
  • Strong background in tax law (preferred).
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Document Management System (desired).

Education:

in tax or requisite courses in law school applicable to the practice.

Certifications:

Membership in good standing with the California Bar.

Skills:

  • Expertise in estate planning and tax law.
  • Drafting and implementing complex estate planning strategies.
