Reporting to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney, the ideal candidate will manage a caseload, provide legal counsel to clients, and collaborate with a dedicated Criminal Defense Team of attorneys and legal assistants.

 

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of criminal defense cases at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Interact directly with clients to advise them on legal matters and rights.
  • Attend pretrial hearings and strategize with clients following each hearing.
  • Handle court appearances, trials, and drafting of legal motions.
  • Conduct legal research, analyze case precedents, and assess probable case outcomes.
  • Effectively manage workload and prioritize tasks.
  • Provide detailed legal analysis to clients to determine potential case benefits.
  • Gather additional evidence to support clients' cases or challenge prosecution's charges.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and gather information from key witnesses and experts.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Experience handling criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility for admission.
  • Strong teamwork skills and willingness to collaborate with colleagues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.

 

Certifications:

California State Bar membership or eligibility.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage a high caseload efficiently.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in legal proceedings.
