A law firm in McLean, VA, is looking for a Patent Agent with 0-5 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience. The ideal candidate should have a degree in computer science, with a preference for electrical engineering. Experience in drafting patent applications in computer-related arts, including software technologies and related fields, is a plus.

Duties:

• Prepare and assist in the prosecution of patent applications.
• Draft patent applications in the field of computer science and electrical engineering.
• Conduct patent research and analysis.
• Collaborate with inventors and stakeholders to understand inventions.
• Work closely with patent attorneys and clients on intellectual property matters.
• Communicate with patent examiners to advance patent applications.

Requirements:

• 0-5 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science (preferred) or electrical engineering.

Education:

• A Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science or electrical engineering.

Certifications:

• Registration as a Patent Agent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is preferred.
