Job Overview:

A law firm in Irvine, CA is seeking a highly qualified Senior Tax Associate Attorney or Counsel with a minimum of 7 years of experience in tax matters. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in federal and state tax elements, with a focus on one or more of the following specialties: Partnership taxation, mergers and acquisitions, or tax considerations related to real estate investments. Knowledge of state and local tax laws is highly desirable, and experience with tax-exempt organizations is a plus. The candidate should have a strong academic background and exceptional research, writing, and communication skills. Admission to the California Bar is a mandatory requirement, and previous experience in a large law firm is preferred.

Duties:

• Conduct thorough research on federal and state tax laws, staying abreast of relevant updates and changes.
• Provide comprehensive tax advice and strategic guidance to clients, particularly in areas of Partnership taxation, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate investments.
• Review and analyze complex tax documents and agreements.
• Collaborate with other legal professionals within the firm to address multi-disciplinary legal issues.
• Stay informed on developments in tax law, ensuring compliance with regulations and identifying potential opportunities for clients.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in tax matters.
• Specialization in one or more of the following: Partnership taxation, mergers and acquisitions, or tax considerations related to real estate investments.
• Knowledge of state and local tax laws is a plus.
• Experience with tax-exempt organizations is advantageous.
• Strong academic background with a Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
• Admission to the California Bar is mandatory.
