Job Overview:

The successful candidate will support other attorneys in handling their cases, reviewing workers' compensation legal files, providing written status reporting, appearing for hearings, depositions, or trials, and delivering timely reporting of case dispositions to clients.

Duties:

  • Review workers' compensation legal files
  • Work up cases and provide written status reporting showing all analysis, actions, and recommendations
  • Appear for hearings, depositions, or trials
  • Provide timely reporting of case dispositions to clients
  • Support other attorneys in handling their cases

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience practicing as a California Workers’ Compensation Defense attorney
  • Admitted and in good standing with the State Bar of California
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to outstanding customer service
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently with little supervision
  • Client-focused, with the ability to deliver timely action-based results
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to dictate reporting
  • Strong reading comprehension and data entry skills with a focus on accuracy
  • Experience with Case Management Software
  • Ability to interact effectively and clearly with the public, clients, and employees
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work well under pressure
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, be a team player, and take pride in work product

Education/Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the State Bar of California
