Job Title: Tax Senior Manager - Real Estate Tax Experience: 8+ years of total corporate or international tax experience Location: Multiple locations available (27 locations) Salary Range: $119,490 to $272,090 (dependent on factors such as experience, skills, and location) Position Summary: - Seeking a strategic and creative federal tax professional with experience in serving real estate owners and operators to join Deloitte's Real Estate Services Tax practice as a Tax Senior Manager. - This role involves solving complex federal tax issues, utilizing the latest tax technologies in the real estate industry, and developing and pursuing creative strategies for clients. - The role requires a solid understanding of Subchapter K, partnership allocation methodologies, and Real Estate Investment Trust qualification rules. - Recruiting for this role ends on June 1, 2024. What You'll Do: - Provide federal tax consulting and compliance services to clients in the Real Estate industry sector. - Work directly with clients, manage the tax engagement team, and have access to an elite group of specialists when needed. - Use proprietary technologies to assist clients in streamlining their tax compliance processes and achieve worldwide compliance. - Maintain and develop strong client relationships on various federal tax consulting/compliance engagements in the real estate industry. - Advise clients on a variety of tax issues, including REIT Qualification, impact of Tax Reform on passthroughs and other Real Estate clients, business restructuring, and tax controversy. - Oversee complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects using state of the art technology and data analytics. - Manage engagement workflow, team resources, and billing. - Mentor and develop junior staff, providing leadership, counseling, career guidance, and guidance on issues related to work/life fit. The Team: - Deloitte works with clients in the Real Estate industry to address critical issues brought on by regulatory changes, competition, globalization, advances in technology, and changing customer demands. - Clients include investment managers, investment partnerships, private equity, Real Estate Investment Trusts, real estate private equity funds, and other real estate owners and operators. - Business tax services range from tax planning to tax compliance, controversy and risk management, specialized services including research and development, government incentives, and tax management consulting. Qualifications: Required: - Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week. - 8+ years of total corporate or international tax experience. - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. - One of the following accreditations: CPA, Attorney, Enrolled Agent, CFA, CFP. - Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve. Preferred: - Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM. - Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience. - Experience with US clients and a basic understanding of US tax. - Solid understanding of real estate tax technical and transaction skills. - Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills. - Demonstrated research skills. - Self-starter with the ability to effectively handle multiple, competing priorities. - Demonstrated management experience. Salary Range and Benefits: - The disclosed salary range estimate takes into account factors such as skills, experience, training, licensure, and certifications, as well as business and organizational needs. - A reasonable estimate of the current range is $119,490 to $272,090. - Eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. - Broad range of benefits offered to employees.
