Job Title: Tax Manager - Business Tax Services - Tax Exempt
Experience: 5+ years in federal taxation, with emphasis on tax-exempt organizations
Salary: $84,980 to $193,440 (range estimate, may vary based on factors such as experience and location)

Position Summary:
- Work with tax-exempt organizations in a variety of non-profit industries
- Provide federal tax compliance and consulting services to clients
- Develop strong client relationships and provide tax advice on issues such as compliance, business restructuring, and philanthropic planning
- Manage engagement team and have access to specialist support
- Interact and collaborate with other Tax-Exempt specialists from across the country

Responsibilities:
- Maintain and develop strong client relationships on federal tax consulting and compliance engagements
- Advise clients on various tax issues, including compliance, business restructuring, and philanthropic planning
- Oversee federal tax compliance and consulting projects for different entities and their affiliates
- Manage engagement team resources and billing
- Provide technical training and guidance for the development and motivation of the team

The Team:
- Comprised of dedicated professionals with experience in serving non-profit organizations and sophisticated donors
- Includes specialists in multi-state tax compliance, international tax compliance and consulting, and transfer tax planning
- Collaborates with other departments on client projects
- Some team members are fully dedicated to serving non-profit clients, while others also specialize in Private Wealth or Corporate business tax services
- Deloitte's Global Center for Excellence in Philanthropy (GCEP) is a cross-functional team that provides philanthropic tax advisory services to wealthy and sophisticated donors

Qualifications:
Required:
- Ability to work in a hybrid model, with 2-3 days per week in-person
- 5+ years of experience in federal taxation, with emphasis on tax-exempt organizations (501(c)(3)s and 501(c)(4)s)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field
- Active accreditation such as CPA, attorney, enrolled agent, CFA, or CFP
- Ability to travel up to 25% for work

Preferred:
- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, or LLM
- Previous experience at a Big 4 or large CPA firm
- Solid understanding of federal tax compliance, analysis, and research
- Familiarity with mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring for tax-exempt organizations
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
- Strong management and analytical skills
