A law firm in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a qualified Mid-Level Medical Devices and Mechanical Engineering Patent Prosecution Agent. The ideal candidate should possess a high level of academic achievement, and solid law firm, engineering, or industry experience, along with superb writing and communication skills. The candidate is expected to have a minimum of 3 years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience, with a degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering. Other engineering disciplines, coupled with substantial patent experience in medical devices and/or mechanical products, will be considered. Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is a requirement for this position.

Duties

• Conduct patent searches, draft patent applications, and assist with prosecuting medical devices and mechanical engineering patents.
• Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and attorneys to gather necessary information for patent preparation and prosecution.
• Analyze and respond to office actions from the USPTO.
• Stay abreast of developments in patent law and regulations related to medical devices and mechanical engineering.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Bachelor's or higher degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.
• Admission to the USPTO.
