Job Overview:

The Insurance Bad Faith Defense Associate Attorney will defend insurance bad faith and fraud cases, conduct legal research, handle discovery, depositions, and motions, and assist with trial preparation.

Duties:

  • Defend insurance bad faith and fraud cases.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents.
  • Handle discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Conduct depositions of witnesses and experts.
  • Prepare and argue motions in court.
  • Assist with trial preparation and participate in trial proceedings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members.
  • Maintain accurate and timely billing records.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
  • 5-10 years of experience working on the defense of insurance bad faith and fraud matters and/or experience working on Special Investigation Unit (SIU) claims.
  • Experience conducting discovery, taking depositions, preparing and arguing motions, and assisting with trial preparation.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
