Job Overview:

The Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney will provide legal counsel to clients facing criminal charges, represent them in court proceedings, and manage their cases from pretrial to resolution.

Job Details:

  • Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up legal documents related to their cases.
  • Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide post-hearing advisement on strategic options.
  • Managed court appearances and trials, draft motions, interview witnesses, and conduct legal research.
  • Analyze probable case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedents.
  • Manage a workload of cases efficiently.
  • Provide legal analysis to clients to determine potential case benefits.
  • Gather additional evidence to support clients' cases or counter prosecution charges.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and gather information from witnesses and experts.
  • Demonstrate interest in Criminal Defense law through Law School clinics, volunteer work, or internships.
  • Possess a Juris Doctorate.
  • Hold an active Bar admission (law graduates awaiting admission will also be considered).
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow associates and contribute to case strategy.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Have a track record of advancing legal cases and managing a caseload.
  • Experience with Case Management Software preferred.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate degree
  • Active Bar admission (or pending admission)
  • Demonstrated interest in Criminal Defense law
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Record of managing legal cases
