A law firm is seeking an Immigration Attorney for its Denver, CO office.

Job Overview:

The Immigration Attorney will be responsible for performing intake and assessing matters for potential clients, identifying avenues to obtain or preserve lawful status and/or pursuing relief from removal. This role involves representing criminal and/or detained noncitizens, developing strategies to protect and defend immigrants before USCIS, DOS, and litigation before the immigration courts, BIA, and federal courts.

Duties:

  • Perform intake and assess matters for potential clients
  • Identify avenues to obtain or preserve lawful status and pursue relief from removal
  • Represent criminal and/or detained noncitizens
  • Develop and implement strategies to protect and defend immigrants before USCIS, DOS, and in litigation before immigration courts, BIA, and federal courts

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree
  • Current admission in good standing to a State Bar (Colorado Bar admission preferred)
  • 2 years of practicing immigration law (some credit for active student clinical work or internships; experienced attorneys welcome)
  • Strong experience in family-based immigration and removal defense (including representation of detained aliens, asylum seekers, crime and trafficking victims, and juveniles), and/or immigration-related litigation
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend Spanish
