A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney for their Alpharetta, GA office. The ideal candidate will primarily manage bankruptcy matters that are contested or litigated. They will draft and review all pleadings and claims filed in the particular matter, respond to objections and motions involving client rights, attend scheduled hearings, respond to general firm-wide bankruptcy inquiries, and perform other assigned duties. Experience representing creditors and/or debtors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases is required.

 

Duties:

  • Manage contested or litigated bankruptcy matters.
  • Draft and review all pleadings and claims filed.
  • Respond to objections and motions involving client rights.
  • Attend scheduled hearings.
  • Respond to general firm-wide bankruptcy inquiries.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

 

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • 1 year of bankruptcy and/or creditor’s rights experience.
  • Experience representing creditors and/or debtors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases.
  • License to practice law in Florida preferred, but other states will be considered.
  • Admitted to practice law in Florida and the Federal Districts in Florida, or willingness to become admitted.
  • Familiarity with Florida bankruptcy courts, local rules, and court procedures.
  • Knowledge of bankruptcy laws and general creditor rights laws.
  • Advanced computer literacy.
  • Familiarity with CM/ECF filing system.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admitted to practice law in Florida and the Federal Districts in Florida.

 

Skills:

  • Document preparation and execution.
  • Legal drafting and review.
  • Communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Familiarity with bankruptcy laws and procedures.

 

Experience:

1 year of bankruptcy and/or creditor’s rights experience.
