A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney in Irvine, CA. The Associate Attorney will collaborate with the legal team and independently manage case assignments. They will assist Partners in recovering multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements for clients, utilizing strong legal research and writing skills, and effectively working with witnesses. The candidate will have trial/arbitration experience and be an active member of the California State Bar.

 

Duties:

  • Collaborate effectively within a legal team and independently manage case assignments.
  • Assist Partners in recovering multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements for clients.
  • Conduct legal research and draft civil pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Attend depositions and trial/arbitration proceedings.
  • Work closely and effectively with lay and expert witnesses.
  • Take responsibility for files with partner oversight.

 

Requirements:

  • 3-8 years' experience in drafting civil pleadings, motions, discovery, and attending depositions.
  • Active member of the California State Bar in good standing.
  • Familiarity with the litigation process.
  • Construction or engineering experience is helpful.
  • Trial/arbitration experience preferred.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active membership in the California State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in working with legal databases and software.
