Director, Privacy & Data Protection - BDO is seeking a Director to join their thriving Privacy & Data Protection Practice as a subject matter expert and engagement leader. This is a full-time position with opportunities for advancement and a competitive salary.

BDO is a global organization providing solutions for clients' data protection and privacy needs. The Director will work with both domestic and international clients, managing project teams and ensuring timely and quality work product delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and deliver global data protection and privacy strategies to client C-suite/board
- Build cross-cultural functionality for clients to operationalize global privacy programs
- Manage team members and collaborate with BDO Member Firms and offshore team members
- Provide detailed information on domestic and global privacy laws to clients
- Establish new relationships to drive new opportunities for BDO
- Comply with BDO's Quality Risk Management, Data Protection, and other Frameworks
- Manage and maintain relationships with clients and introduce other BDO professionals to expand on existing relationships
- Ensure timely and thoughtful responses to client inquiries and requests
- Participate in industry events and build relationships with other BDO professionals
- Update customer relationship management for accurate pipeline reporting
- Review executive reports and provide feedback to team members
- Develop proposals, respond to RFP/RFI's, and manage Master Service Agreements and engagement letters
- Utilize knowledge of client needs to develop project and resource plans and provide regular updates to clients
- Conduct business unit, legal, IT, privacy, and governance interviews and meetings as needed
- Proofread and edit executive reports before presenting to clients
- Manage client and BDO Partner expectations at all levels
- Mentor team members to ensure consistent quality work product and adherence to BDO standards
- Manage multiple large, complex, and potentially long-term engagements and clients
- Support the Data Protection Officer for clients as required
- Develop and manage project budgets, review invoices, and ensure timely delivery
- Act as a leader and maintain a professional, positive attitude toward clients and firm personnel
- Manage a team of professionals on a project or regional basis

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree required, Master's, Juris Doctorate, or MBA preferred
- 10+ years of consulting experience required
- 3+ years of data protection or privacy experience required
- Experience working with Fortune 500 clients preferred
- 5+ years of experience managing large, complex privacy projects required

Certifications:

- One or more of the following privacy certifications required: CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, CDPSE, or other privacy certifications
- OneTrust, TrustArc, or other privacy enabled technology solutions preferred

Skills:

- Executive presence and ability to act as primary ,000
- Colorado Range: $200,000 - $225,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $200,000 - $225,000
