As a virtual position handling cases in San Diego and surrounding counties, the Trial Attorney at Farmers will have the opportunity to handle complex cases and assist other attorneys while enjoying a comprehensive benefits package and without the stress of billable hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Competently and ethically represent clients in assigned cases, which can involve all areas of tort practice
• Handle cases with unique legal or procedural issues involving moderate to severe injuries and/or damages
• Consult with Claims Departments regarding insurance policy questions and the legal aspects of handling personal injury claims
• Keep supervisor informed of work being done and any problems encountered
• Maintain and update computerized litigation support systems for assigned caseloads
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree
• Law school degree and membership in good standing with State Bar in state of position
• At least 3 years as an Attorney including civil jury trial experience or equivalent dispositive ADR experience or comparable outside experience
• Ability to handle cases of moderate to great exposure and/or complexity with minimum supervision
• Public speaking and ability to handle high case loads in adversarial or confrontational situations
• Valid driver's license
