A law firm located in Burbank, CA, is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney with a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on litigation experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, with a focus on managing complex litigation matters from start to finish.

 

Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of civil litigation cases, including start-to-finish case management, complex motion practice, and pleadings.
  • Handle discovery processes, including propounding and responding to written discovery, conducting depositions, and analyzing complex documents.
  • Draft and prepare various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and other court filings.
  • Conduct thorough legal research on case-related matters and provide analysis to support legal strategies.
  • Make court appearances as necessary to represent clients in hearings and proceedings.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to junior associates on case-related tasks and responsibilities.
  • Communicate effectively with supervising partners to ensure alignment with case strategies and client expectations.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the California State Bar.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on litigation experience, preferably in civil litigation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong oral argument abilities.
  • Proficiency in time management and organizational skills to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Strong computer skills and competency in legal research tools and software.
  • Familiarity with environmental litigation and bedrock environmental laws, such as CERCLA, is a plus.
  • Background in geology or hydrogeology is advantageous.
  • Trial, class action, toxic tort, and/or environmental regulatory agency experience is desirable.
  • Administrative and managerial experience is preferred.
