Job Title: Senior Corporate Counsel, ESG Compliance

Location: Hybrid work model with a minimum of three days a week in our collaborative offices and up to two flexible remote workdays a week.

Job Description:

As the Senior Corporate Counsel for ESG Compliance, you will have a significant impact on Salesforce’s compliance readiness for current and future ESG laws and regulations. You will work closely with cross-functional internal stakeholders, at both the headquarters and global levels, to provide legal advice and counseling on ESG compliance and disclosure. You will also be a key participant in the ESG Disclosure Steering Committee and support other governance aspects of ESG.

Responsibilities:

- Provide legal guidance and strategic advice to internal stakeholders on ESG compliance laws and regulations worldwide.
- Oversee the localization of corporate-level plans into localized plans required globally, such as climate transition plans.
- Monitor and advise on legal developments, rules, and regulations concerning ESG laws, such as environmental and human rights laws and policies, SEC climate and ESG disclosure rules, and the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
- Work with cross-functional teams to draft necessary disclosures and ensure compliance with ESG laws.
- Facilitate internal governance body focused on human rights policies and due diligence.
- Identify potential risks from ESG laws and provide recommendations for mitigating them.
- Remain current on developments of ESG laws applicable to Salesforce.
- Ensure open and effective communication and documentation relating to ESG compliance at all levels of the organization.
- Direct or support risk assessments, audit activities, third-party due diligence, internal investigations, and remediation activities related to ESG laws as needed.
- Utilize Salesforce products and technology to enable compliance with statutory requirements of ESG laws.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- At least eight years of law firm or in-house experience in legal compliance.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of legal requirements of various . state and federal and international ESG laws.
- Experience with voluntary reporting frameworks such as SASB, GRI, TCFD, and CDP.
- Experience with . securities laws, compliance, and disclosure obligations.
- Highly responsive and service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and manage workloads to meet deadlines in an exciting and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with senior management and functional leads across key roles in Finance, Procurement, Sustainability, and Employee Success while managing shifting priorities.
- Exceptional organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
